Today, on March 26, a teacher and students were injured as a result of a shooting committed by a 9th-grade student at School No. 32 in the city of Chelyabinsk, Russia.
Reportedly, the 15-year-old student entered the classroom during a lesson, first used a gas spray on two teachers, and then shot a female classmate. He later tried to escape by jumping out of a window and broke his leg.
The attacker and the injured student have been hospitalized. One of the teachers has been diagnosed with a chemical burn.
According to preliminary information, the student was previously calm and serious, and practiced karate. It is said that the probable cause of the incident was jealousy towards the female classmate.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has initiated a criminal case regarding this incident under the article on attempted murder.
Following the incident, the school was temporarily closed, and students were sent home.
