Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of supplying oil to Uzbekistan. This was announced by the country's Minister of Energy, Erlan Akkenzhenov, on the sidelines of the REC 2026 forum being held in Astana.
According to him, cooperation between the two countries is based on mutual support and experience exchange, serving to resolve practical issues. The minister noted that a number of major projects in the petrochemical and refining sectors are being discussed with Uzbekistan.
Also, during the recent visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, initiatives aimed at developing the petrochemical industry and increasing the volume of oil refining were considered.
As Akkenzhenov noted, expanding cooperation in the energy sector, including issues of resource transit and supply, is also being discussed. In particular, work is underway on the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan and the supply of Russian oil.
The minister said that some projects have already moved to the practical stage. He emphasized that close and effective cooperation has been established with Uzbek partners.
