Chairman of the Tax Committee Farrukh Pulatov stated that some public catering establishments in Tashkent are using a scheme to artificially split their revenues in order to avoid paying value-added tax.

According to him, more than 400 restaurants and cafes are issuing receipts to customers not under their own business name, but through individual entrepreneurs. This is a method used to avoid paying VAT.

Pulatov called on entrepreneurs to abandon such practices and said that serious penalties could be applied after inspections. "If a cash receipt is not issued, it is an attempt to conceal revenue. First, a warning will be given, and then large fines will be imposed," he said.

During the meeting, cases of underreporting employee salaries were also criticized. It was noted that some entrepreneurs are artificially understating the wages paid to their workers.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Davron Vakhobov, stated that it is ready to work individually with these entrepreneurs. A list of identified enterprises will be submitted to the Chamber, and explanatory work with them is planned.
