US President Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has been extended for another three weeks. According to him, this decision was reached as a result of productive negotiations in Washington.
Trump said he plans to hold meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in the near future. He called these talks "historic."
The meeting at the White House was attended by US Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and US envoys to the region. At the conclusion of the negotiations, Rubio referred to Israel and Lebanon as "victims of the same terrorist organization," alluding to Hezbollah.
At the same time, Trump emphasized that if attacks against Israel continue, the country will be forced to defend itself. According to the latest reports, the Israel Defense Forces intercepted rockets launched by Hezbollah.
