According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, certain individuals residing in border areas, including pensioners, made contact with Afghan suppliers and were engaged in bringing opium substances into the territory of Uzbekistan and distributing them in the city of Termez and surrounding areas.
During rapid operational measures, one member of the group—an elderly, blind man—was detained, and narcotic substances were found on him. Subsequently, his accomplices were also exposed, and their monetary funds and narcotic substances were seized as material evidence.
During investigative actions, a large reserve of narcotics belonging to the group's organizer was found in his home. From that location, 12 bundles of opium with a total weight of more than 12 kilograms, as well as instruments intended for its consumption, were discovered.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this situation, all suspects have been detained, and investigative actions are being carried out.
