Reports spread about a train stopping inside a tunnel for 30 minutes in the Tashkent metro. Regarding this situation, the metro's information service gave an official comment.
It was reported that on March 28 at 11:49 a.m., a short-term technical malfunction was detected in train number 15, manufactured in 1984, as it arrived at the "Xalqlar Do'stligi" (Friendship of Peoples) station.
It was noted that after the malfunction was detected, the driver informed the train supervisor. The situation was brought under control, passengers were disembarked at the station, and the train was taken to the technical inspection track.
The administration stated that reports on social networks about metro trains colliding were unfounded. The train that stopped at the metro station due to a technical malfunction was, according to established procedure, coupled to another train coming from behind and taken to the technical inspection track.
Nevertheless, it was noted that some pages are spreading information that does not correspond to reality. The metro called on social media users not to spread unverified information and reminded that there is liability under current legislation for false reports.
"Tashkent Metropolitan" stated that this situation caused temporary inconvenience, apologized to passengers, and emphasized that providing safe, uninterrupted, and quality service is a top priority.
