At the meeting, the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar, spoke about the religious reforms in New Uzbekistan. In particular, the conditions created for believers in the mosques of our country, the operation of Quran courses in various regions, the services of the unique Fatwa Center in the region, and the foreign trips of imams and qaris aroused great interest among the Swedish delegation.
During his speech, the Mufti, while mentioning that on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, the Leader of our state gifted the people with the Islamic Civilization Center and the Imam Bukhari mosque complex, also invited representatives of the host country to Uzbekistan to get closely acquainted with these magnificent complexes.
During the conversation, the head imam of the mosque, Mahmud Khalafi, acknowledged the historical greatness of Uzbekistan, the immense contribution of thinkers from this land to world development; in particular, how scholars like Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, and Imam Maturidi contributed to the development of religious sciences, while scientists like Beruni, Ibn Sina, and Mirzo Ulugbek greatly influenced the development of world science, and how this land continues to develop today.
Christian Kamell, the Special Representative of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in his speech, emphasized the many similarities between the states of Uzbekistan and Sweden and stressed that significant results are being achieved during the mutual dialogue of the two countries' delegations.
