In a letter addressed to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, U.S. President Donald Trump conveyed an official proposal to join an international initiative aimed at resolving conflicts in the Middle East. This initiative was announced on September 29, 2025, and was developed based on a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza and approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

The initiative envisages the establishment of a new international structure—a Peace Council—to unite states responsible for ensuring long-term peace and stability. Uzbekistan has been invited to join this council as a founding state.

In his response letter, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev assessed this initiative as an important step towards resolving the long-standing conflicts in the Middle East and expressed Uzbekistan's readiness to join the Peace Council as a founding state.
