The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces denied reports of a drone strike on Azerbaijan.
The statement emphasized that Iran respects the sovereignty of all states, particularly neighboring and Muslim countries.
The General Staff assessed this incident as an action carried out by the Israeli regime with the aim of blaming Iran and disrupting relations among Muslim states.
On March 5, an Iranian rocket landed at the airport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, and another drone approached a school area, leading to an evacuation. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Azerbaijan expressed sharp disapproval, and President Ilham Aliyev called the attack terrorist.
Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov also held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan, expressing serious concern about the situation.
