On April 20–21, 2026, a major international forum on the topic "Combating transnational drug threats to ensure public health and safety" will be organized in the city of Samarkand in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The main tasks of this forum are as follows: increasing the effectiveness of combating illicit drug trafficking;
studying and implementing internationally advanced practices;
developing new, comprehensive approaches to counter modern drug threats;
strengthening cooperation between states and international organizations in the fight against drug addiction.
The following are planned to participate in the event:
representatives of the UN, INTERPOL, the European Union, the SCO, the CIS, the World Customs Organization, and more than 20 other international structures;
heads of law enforcement agencies of nearly 50 countries;
nearly 500 international experts and specialists.
