Medical items and drugs worth 2 billion soums being illegally imported from Russia were not allowed across the border.

During an inspection in Karakalpakstan, on the train traveling on the "Volgograd-Tashkent" route, illegal medical items and medicines were found in 2 carriages.

According to information provided by the DHS, the State Security Service, in cooperation with customs officials, promptly conducted an operation in the direction of combating the illegal circulation of material assets by border troops military personnel.

In particular, a train moving along the "Volgograd - Tashkent" route was inspected at the "Karakalpakstan - railway" international crossing point.

As a result, in carriage No. 7, it was discovered and officially seized that a person acting as the carriage attendant - a resident of Samarkand city, born in 1981 - had hidden approximately 2,742 items of 30 types of dental equipment, implants, and supplies, worth approximately 913 million soums, in the carriage's ventilation shaft.

Furthermore, a similar situation was discovered in carriage No. 12 of the train, where medical supplies and devices, totaling 894 items of 12 types worth approximately 1.5 billion soums, which were being secretly brought through the customs checkpoint by the carriage attendant - a citizen resident of Tashkent city, born in 1976 - were seized as material evidence.

Reportedly, the carriage attendants were supposed to deliver the medical items and drugs to Tashkent city in exchange for material benefit.

It is stated that investigative work is currently being carried out.
