Cultural valuables dating back to the 2nd–3rd centuries, illegally exported from the Central Asian region, have been returned to Uzbekistan, reports the "Dunyo" news agency.

According to the information, the artifacts identified by the Art and Antiquities Crime Unit of the Metropolitan Police in London were handed over to the Embassy of Uzbekistan. They were subsequently brought to the homeland and will be placed in the exhibition of the newly opened Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.

London police detective Sophie Hayes noted that the discovered artifacts belong not only to Uzbekistan but to the heritage of all humanity. The investigation was conducted with the assistance of national and international experts, as well as the OSCE and the WOSCU organization.
