The system for combating oncological and oncohematological diseases among children in Uzbekistan has entered a new stage. Based on the PQ-186 decree adopted on May 19, 2025, measures for implementing the "National Strategy for Combating Childhood Cancer for 2025-2030" have been defined.

According to the document, early detection of diseases, reducing diagnosis times, implementing modern treatment methods, and expanding specialized medical care coverage have been identified as main tasks.

The system for delivering expensive and critical medicines to locations by the Scientific-Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, and Immunology and its regional branches has been launched. This includes delivering drugs used for oncological diseases, chelation therapy agents for thalassemia, as well as vital coagulation factors VIII and IX for children suffering from hemophilia A and B to the regions.

These medicines are provided within the framework of the state budget, international organizations, and partnership projects, and are provided absolutely free of charge to children who are citizens of Uzbekistan.

According to the new system, based on lists provided by regional branches, the individual needs of each sick child are taken into account, and medicines are delivered by special transport under a specified temperature regime. This serves to reduce excessive hassle and travel expenses for parents.

According to officials, these measures are considered an important step aimed at increasing the survival rate and reducing mortality cases among children.
