In Uzbekistan, liability has been introduced for the illegal removal of waste from collection sites. The Ministry of Justice reported on this.

A law adopted on March 25 introduced changes and additions to a number of regulatory legal documents. According to it, additional obligations have been imposed on legal entities engaged in certain types of activities regarding the monitoring of sources that pollute the environment.

In particular, legal entities engaged in activities with a I and II category impact will be fined from 100 to 300 times the BHM (Base Calculation Amount) for not entering, incompletely entering, or providing incorrect information into the unified geoinformation database of the state environmental monitoring system.

Furthermore, the illegal allocation or use of forest fund lands, if administrative penalties have previously been applied for such actions, will be punishable by a fine of 300 to 400 times the BHM, restriction of liberty from 2 to 3 years, or deprivation of liberty for up to 3 years.

In addition, according to the new procedure, liability for environmental offenses will also be applied in cases detected through special automated photo and video recording means. Also, administrative liability has been established for the illegal collection and removal of waste from waste collection sites and their unprotected facilities.
