According to the ministry's statement, a ballistic missile, determined to have been launched from Iranian territory, entered Turkish airspace and was neutralized by NATO's air defense and missile defense forces deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

We remind that earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made a statement regarding a missile directed at the country from Iran and issued a sharp warning to Tehran. Subsequently, an Iranian ballistic missile was shot down in Turkish airspace for the second time.

Furthermore, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the incident in a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and called for respecting Turkish airspace.
