It has been reported that in November-December 2025 and January 2026, certain propane importing entities were found to have unreasonably increased starting prices in exchange trades and artificially reduced product volumes. This led to a sharp increase in market prices.

As a result of urgent measures considered by the Committee, the price of propane was reduced by up to 21 percent.

At the conclusion of the control measures, a total of 31 business entities admitted to violating the requirements of competition legislation. Of these, 12 were found to have carried out coordinated actions in exchange trades that were contrary to competition. In the remaining cases, instances of unreasonably increasing prices and selling products through direct contracts in a manner contrary to the law were recorded.

Regarding these cases, the Special Commission decided to impose a total financial penalty of 28.9 billion soums, as well as to return the unjustly obtained 34.1 billion soums to the state budget.

At the same time, the companies were given mandatory instructions to eliminate the violations and to avoid repeating such cases.

It is noted that the party dissatisfied with this decision has the right to appeal to the Committee's Appeals Council or to the court.
