“On measures for training young people in correctional institutions in modern professions” Presidential Decree was adopted.
According to the decree, the "Second Chance" national social rehabilitation project aimed at training young people serving sentences in modern professions will be implemented.
Within the framework of the project, starting from June 1, 2026, in Tashkent, Navoi and Kashkadarya regions, and from March 1, 2027, in other regions of the republic, a system for training young people in correctional institutions in modern digital professions will be launched. In this regard:
training courses will be organized in correctional institutions based on 8–12 month intensive training programs;
young people serving sentences who have committed crimes not posing a high social danger, less serious, and serious crimes will be involved in the training courses;
those involved in the training courses will also be taught foreign languages (English, Russian, Chinese, and others) based on unified intensive programs;
upon completion of the training courses, young people serving sentences who have mastered the relevant programs will be awarded electronic certificates.
