Last year, on the occasion of the 1155th anniversary of the birth of Abu Mansur al-Maturidi, the founder of the science of Islamic doctrine, a complex in the territory of the Chokardiza cemetery in Samarkand city was renovated and landscaping works began.

Currently, the complex is being reconstructed in an area with a total area of 26 hectares. A 250-seat mosque, an entrance portal, a scientific center, a library, a museum, and a parking lot are being built here. Also, during the construction process, the burial place of the great jurist Burhaniddin al-Marghinani was identified in the Chokardiza cemetery, and a mausoleum is being built there.

The President reviewed the construction works, emphasized that the complex is an important pilgrimage site for Muslims around the world, and noted the necessity of creating conditions that meet modern requirements.

"A person coming to the complex should first have a clear understanding of the scientific and spiritual legacy of our ancestor Imam Maturidi and his position in the Islamic world, and feel the relevance of the scholar's enlightening views even today," said the President.

Furthermore, relevant instructions were given regarding the high-quality and timely completion of the construction and increasing green areas in the territory.
