In Uzbekistan, the requirement for graduates who received higher education on the basis of state grants to work for at least three years may be changed. This is stated in a draft amendment to the resolution "On approval of the procedure for targeted training of personnel on the basis of state grants."

According to it, it is proposed to remove the norms concerning the "at least three years" work obligation established in the current regulation and replace it with the general concept of "mandatory."

At the same time, it is envisaged that the work period for graduates who studied on a state grant will be determined separately by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, taking into account the specific aspects of the field of study.

The document also proposes to clarify some concepts related to the job assignment of graduates. For example, it is planned to replace the term "permanent place of residence" with "place of residence."

It is worth noting that earlier, the issue of abolishing the procedure for admission on an increased tuition-contract basis in medical fields starting from the 2026–2027 academic year was also put up for discussion.
