In the Yaz'yan district of the Fergana region, an individual who attempted to fraudulently send citizens on an Umrah pilgrimage was detained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
It is reported that during an event held on February 11 of this year, a person born in 1965, residing in the "Qoratepa" neighborhood, promised to send the applicant's four relatives on an Umrah pilgrimage for $4,100 USD through a travel firm. He was caught red-handed while receiving $500 of the agreed-upon money.
Regarding this incident, a criminal case has been initiated against the citizen under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code. Preliminary investigative actions are currently being carried out.
