According to reports, strong storms and tornadoes have hit the US states of Illinois and Indiana. This was reported by the Associated Press.
It is noted that the natural disaster caused serious damage to homes in some areas. In particular, emergency services in the south of Chicago are operating in an enhanced mode due to numerous calls. The storm that occurred on March 10 resulted in injuries to about ten people.
Additionally, strong winds knocked down trees and damaged power lines. In the city of Lake Village, a local Family Dollar store and a gas station canopy were destroyed.
According to information from the US National Weather Service, strong tornadoes, destructive winds, and large hail were observed in some areas of the Midwest. On the morning of March 11, tornado warnings were also issued for some areas of Kentucky and Ohio.
Local authorities have advised residents to stay informed and avoid travel unless necessary. Previously, tornadoes that occurred on March 6 in Michigan and Oklahoma resulted in the deaths of six people.
