According to Yonhap News Agency, last night — on March 8, a 50-year-old Uzbek citizen died in an accident at a metal smelting plant located in Jigok-myeon, Seosan City.

It is reported that around 21:46 local time, a male worker at a factory in the Seosan Autovalley industrial zone collided with a forklift and was trapped under work materials.

The victim was rescued in cardiac arrest and taken to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency service. However, doctors were unable to save his life.

It is noted that since the plant normally has more than 5 regular workers, the incident is being reviewed under the "Act on the Punishment of Serious Industrial Accidents."

The police and labor authorities stated that, according to a preliminary assumption, the forklift driver may have failed to notice the worker standing in front of him while moving, and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
