A seven-year-old child got stuck on the seventh-floor cornice of a building on Petrozavodskaya Street in St. Petersburg. Neighbors called for him to return to the apartment, but the child did not respond. A few seconds later, he lost his balance and fell.
At that moment, a man named Khairullo, who was born in Uzbekistan and was working in front of the building, had noticed the child earlier near an open window. Realizing the child was trying to get outside, he approached and observed the situation.
According to reports, as the child was falling headfirst, the janitor caught him in the air, hugged him to his chest, and cushioned the impact. He then took the child into the entranceway and tried to revive him until neighbors called for emergency help.
The child survived and is currently in intensive care; his condition is assessed as stable. Khairullo also sustained minor bodily injuries, but no serious injuries were reported.
The incident was first reported by ExpressAsia. The publication emphasized that this event could have ended differently, but the courage of an ordinary worker from Central Asia saved the child's life.
