According to a report from the State Security Service, during an urgent operation conducted in collaboration between the SSS Samarkand regional directorate and internal affairs bodies, it was revealed that a citizen born in 1991, residing in the Tashlak district of Fergana region, had rented one of the homes in the "Dustlik" neighborhood of Urgut district and organized a "hujra" (religious cell).

It was established that this individual, who does not possess special religious knowledge and did not obtain the relevant permit, engaged in illegally providing religious instruction to 7 young boys born between 2011 and 2016 in exchange for material benefit.

A criminal case has now been initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 229-2 of the Criminal Code (violating the procedure for providing religious instruction), and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied. Investigative actions are being carried out, the report states.
