Six more children left unattended in various regions of Russia have been returned to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Children's Ombudsman here.
It is reported that the representative for children's rights sent a request to his foreign counterpart — the Children's Ombudsman of the Russian Federation. The request asked for practical assistance in temporarily placing the unattended minors in children's institutions in the Russian regions where they were located, until the responsible authorities of Uzbekistan (Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) could return the children to their homeland.
In response, the necessary assistance was provided by the Russian Children's Ombudsman, and comfortable and suitable conditions were ensured for the children in the regions where they were located.
On February 1, 2026, 6 children (2 from St. Petersburg, 1 from Moscow, 1 from Moscow region, 1 from Kazan city of Tatarstan, 1 from the Kabardino-Balkar Republic) were returned to Uzbekistan by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
