In recent weeks, discussions about who could be his successor have intensified against the backdrop of news about the health of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. According to some sources, Grozny and Moscow are seriously discussing scenarios for the post-Kadyrov era, writes "zamon.uz".

According to the report, at the end of December 2025, Ramzan Kadyrov was urgently hospitalized at a medical institution in Moscow. On January 11, citing Ukrainian intelligence sources, it was reported that the Chechen leader was in serious condition with kidney failure and that his relatives had arrived in Moscow.

A source close to the Kremlin and "United Russia," in a comment to the publication "Important Stories," emphasized that the situation in Chechnya is extremely complex and that the federal center is working on possible solutions. According to him, Kadyrov is alive, no open political processes are being observed, but internal processes in the region are being carried out under strict control.

According to sources, the potential successor must be a person capable of ensuring the security of the Kadyrov family, as well as having the ability to maintain stability for the federal center. Therefore, the issue of succession is of strategic importance to the Kremlin.

The intensification of discussions was also caused by a car accident involving Ramzan Kadyrov's 18-year-old son, Adam Kadyrov. He is mentioned by some information sources as the future leader of Chechnya. However, according to current legislation, Adam Kadyrov cannot lead the republic until he turns 30, that is, until 2037.

According to media reports, among the possible candidates are representatives of the Benoy teip and the name of Apti Alaudinov, who is connected with the Federal Security Service, is being mentioned. While the Kremlin has not yet made an official statement, the situation is being seriously assessed by Russian political circles.
