According to the State Department's statement, the ongoing protests in Iran could turn violent, and the number of mass arrests may increase. It has been noted that roads are being closed in the country, disruptions in public transport are being observed, and internet and mobile communications are being restricted.
U.S. citizens have been advised to leave via land routes through Armenia, Turkey, or Turkmenistan if possible. Those unable to leave the country have been advised to stay in a safe place and prepare a stock of essential food and medicine.
For reference, mass protest demonstrations in Iran have been ongoing since December 28, 2025. Against the backdrop of the latest statements, tensions in the region have intensified further.
