Russia did not congratulate opposition leader Péter Magyar on his victory in the Hungarian parliamentary elections. This was reported by Zamon.uz reported.
According to Peskov, Moscow does not send congratulations to leaders of "unfriendly states." He emphasized that Hungary was placed in this category precisely because it supports sanctions against Russia.
At the same time, in response to a journalist's question, "Does this mean Moscow is only friends with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán?", he noted that Russia has previously maintained contact with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
For reference, Hungary has been on Russia's list of "unfriendly states" since March 5, 2022. Despite this, in April of that year, Vladimir Putin officially congratulated Orbán on his victory in the parliamentary elections.
During the briefing on April 13, Peskov added that the Kremlin views the choice of the Hungarian people "with respect" and intends to continue "pragmatic relations" with the new leadership.
We remind you that in the elections held on April 12, the ruling "Fidesz" party lost to the opposition "Tisza".
