In the Payariq district of the Samarkand region, a woman gave birth in front of a maternity hospital and abandoned her newborn in a restroom waste bin. New details about the incident have become known.
According to the details, as reported by the medical institution's doctors, the incident occurred on December 27. A woman who came to the medical association with her mother-in-law refused to undergo a medical examination, complained of constipation, and requested an enema. The doctor suggested conducting an examination and an ultrasound, but the patient did not agree. The woman was four months pregnant.
Subsequently, the woman was directed to a treatment room. During the treatment process, she asked the nurse to leave her alone. After some time, medical staff checking the room discovered a newborn left in a basin.
It is known that the woman gave birth in the treatment room and then left the medical institution. After the situation was discovered, the hospital administration identified the woman through surveillance cameras and reported it to law enforcement agencies.
According to the official information from the Samarkand Regional Department of Internal Affairs' information service, the newborn found in the basin was nine months old and male. Relevant documents regarding this incident have been formalized, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed for the court.
Currently, pre-investigation checks are being carried out by the investigative department under the Payariq district Department of Internal Affairs.
