Large-scale inspections have started across Uzbekistan to eliminate cases of illegal dumping of construction waste. The first raids covered the Charvak tourist zone.
It has been noted that cases of dumping waste in unauthorized locations have also increased across the republic, following the rise in construction works. In this regard, a working group consisting of representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Tax Committee, the National Guard, and the State Committee for Ecology has begun raid measures across the republic.
Initial studies in the Charvak area showed that construction has increased tenfold compared to 2020. This has sharply intensified problems related to the illegal dumping of construction waste.
During the raids conducted on April 11-13, 102 cases of illegal waste dumping were identified, and administrative reports were officially drawn up. Furthermore, 19 cases of violating air protection rules were recorded. With the help of 23 pieces of special equipment, two illegal dumpsites were eliminated and 401 tons of waste were removed to landfills.
To strengthen control in the area, online video surveillance has been installed at 10 points, with plans to cover 40 more locations. A crucial 10-day period has also been announced across the republic to ensure environmental stability.
