On April 20-21, 2026, a global forum on the topic "Combating transnational drug threats to ensure public health and safety" will be held in the city of Samarkand in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The intended purpose of holding the forum:
- increasing the effectiveness of combating the illicit circulation of narcotics;
- systematic study and implementation of advanced international experience;
- development of comprehensive modern approaches to countering drug threats;
- strengthening interstate and international cooperation in the fight against drug addiction.
The event is expected to include:
- More than 20 influential international organizations, including the United Nations, INTERPOL, the European Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the World Customs Organization, and others,
- Heads of law enforcement agencies from nearly 50 countries,
- Participation of approximately 500 international experts and field specialists.
