A female student died as a result of a road traffic accident in Surkhandarya region, and a court verdict was read to the driver.
It is reported that the incident occurred in the territory of Sherobod district in November 2025. A Chevrolet Cobalt car, driven without a license, lost control due to excessive speed, veered off the road, and fell into a river.
As a result of the accident, a passenger in the car—a female student—died at the scene from severe bodily injuries. According to the court verdict, the driver was found guilty under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, deprived of the right to drive for 3 years, and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment.
