The incident occurred on January 7 in the state of Minnesota. ICE agents shot and killed a 37-year-old woman during a raid. Representatives of the Trump administration stated that the woman attempted to run over law enforcement officers with a car, claiming the shooting was carried out for "self-defense."

However, the Minneapolis city authorities, Democratic Party representatives, and local officials are rejecting this version. City Mayor Jacob Frey accused the ICE agent of "recklessly using force" and called for the agents to leave the city.

Following the incident, protest actions began in Minneapolis as well as in cities like New York, Miami, and Seattle. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced that the National Guard has been placed on combat alert due to the possibility of the situation escalating.

According to CNN, local police are working in an enhanced mode to prevent possible disturbances.
