On December 21, a brawl broke out among deputies during the voting process on laws concerning the 2026 Central Government Budget and the 2024 Final Account at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The publication "Haberler" reported on this.

According to information, the incident began when Murat Emir, Deputy Chairman of the Republican People's Party faction, threw something at Justice and Development Party deputy Mustafa Varank. Other deputies joined the quarrel in a short time, turning it into a mass brawl.

The brawl was stopped with the intervention of colleagues. Despite this, the voting was concluded, and the laws on the 2026 budget and the 2024 final account were adopted. It is noted that 320 deputies supported the documents, while 249 voted against.

Such incidents have been observed before in the Turkish Parliament. In particular, during the 2022 budget debates, a brawl lasting approximately 10 minutes occurred among deputies.
