During a rapid operation conducted by the Bukhara regional department of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and National Guard personnel, a person born in 1998 residing in Bukhara city and a citizen born in 1984 residing in Bukhara district were detained.
They were caught red-handed while selling three vials containing a total of 343 grams of mercury, banned from free circulation in the country, for 35 thousand dollars, having conspired beforehand.
Regarding this case, a criminal case has been initiated against them under part 2, clauses "b" and "c" of Article 185-1 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.
According to officials, the sale, purchase, or domestic use of mercury and its compounds is strictly prohibited. Because it has a high degree of toxicity, its free circulation within the country is also banned.
