According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia will lose more than $37 billion this year due to a decline in oil production and refining volumes.
In his address, Zelenskyy, referring to a report by the head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, stated that oil production and refining volumes in Russia have sharply decreased.
According to him, this decline is leading to not only economic but also political consequences.
"According to intelligence data, the crisis in the Russian oil industry is deepening. This year's losses will amount to at least $37 billion," said Zelenskyy.
He also noted that the sanctions imposed by Western countries are showing their effect.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the pressure is increasing on the energy sector, which is the mainstay of the Russian economy, and this, ultimately, limits the Kremlin's ability to wage war.
