Today, as a result of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on the night of November 3 in the northern regions of Afghanistan, at least 8 people were killed and another 150 people were injured.
Representatives of the interim "Taliban" government confirmed the information about the victims. The earthquake also caused serious damage to the famous Mawi mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif. According to preliminary estimates from the US Geological Survey, the number of casualties could rise.
The earthquake tremors were also felt in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. In the Surxondaryo region of Uzbekistan, the tremors were recorded with a strength of 5 points. No official information has been provided yet about damage to buildings in the area.
