The eleventh plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis continues its work. The law "On the Circulation of Pyrotechnic Products" was considered.
In Uzbekistan, pyrotechnic products are divided into 5 categories based on their degree of hazard. According to the law, pyrotechnic products of category I, with a hazardous area radius not exceeding 0.5 meters, will be in free circulation. The circulation of pyrotechnic means of other categories is prohibited.
Qutbiddin Burkhanov, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security Issues, noted that the increase in cases of illegal sale and use of pyrotechnic products negatively affects the safety of citizens and public order.
- This creates threats for the emergence of fires and other emergencies, - said Q. Burkhanov. - Despite the targeted measures taken by the responsible ministry and agencies, it is not possible to fully cover the cases of illegal import of pyrotechnic means into the territory of the republic from abroad.
For this type of offense, the fine is now being increased from five to twenty times the base calculation amount, instead of the current range of fifteen to twenty-five times the base calculation amount.
