Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to hold regular joint military exercises. This was noted in a document signed by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov.
According to the agreement, the exercises will be held alternately on the territories of the two countries. They will involve ground forces, military aviation, and special equipment. The agreement regulates the crossing of military columns across the border, the use of training grounds, as well as medical and technical support issues.
The document is concluded for a period of 5 years and will be automatically extended if neither party objects. According to officials, the purpose of the agreement is to strengthen security in the region and enhance cooperation between the armies of the two countries.
