In one of Russia's largest cities, St. Petersburg, the hiring of foreigners working in taxi parks on the basis of a patent has been banned. This was reported by the city's press service.
It is noted that this applies to migrants who rent light vehicles.
"This decision is aimed at improving the quality and safety of services in the taxi industry and creating additional jobs for citizens of the Russian Federation. A three-month transition period is envisaged, allowing for the termination of current labor relations and the hiring of new employees to carry out activities," the report states.
For reference, a patent for foreign citizens in Russia is a document granting the right to work legally in the country.
Additionally, earlier, deputies of the Russian State Duma proposed imposing restrictions on the amount of money migrants send abroad.
According to this proposal, if a migrant wishes to send an amount exceeding their official income, they must submit a financial declaration confirming their income.
