The body of a two-year-old child, who went missing in the Jizzakh region, was found. This was reported by Darakchi.uz, citing the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It is reported that the child lived in the city of Urgench, Khorezm region, and had come to visit the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region, specifically to the Duoba rural community area, with his parents. He went out in an unknown direction on July 5, 2024, at around 19:30 and had been considered missing since then.
To find the child, local residents, law enforcement agencies, and volunteers were involved, and a reward of 20 million soums was announced for the person who found him.
As a result of the search efforts, the child's body was found with injuries on a mountain road 1.5 kilometers away from the Örikli village in Zomin district.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the child was accidentally hit by a vehicle driven in reverse by a driver from the local population. After realizing that the child was not breathing, the driver took the body to a grove near the living house and abandoned it there.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (violating traffic safety or operation rules) concerning the incident. The preliminary investigation has been assigned to the investigation department at the Jizzakh Regional Directorate of Internal Affairs.
