In the framework of the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, accompanied by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visited the "Imarat" historical-architectural complex in the city of Aghdam. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

Leaders of delegations from member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization also came here.

The city of Aghdam is located in the western part of Azerbaijan, in the Karabakh region. Since 2021, the city's infrastructure is actively being restored: new schools, kindergartens, residential buildings, and administrative buildings are being constructed.

The "Imarat" complex houses the palace and mausoleum of Panah Ali Khan, the founder of the Karabakh Khanate. The complex was reopened in 2024 after restoration work and archaeological research.

A park of Karabakh horses and an interactive museum have been established here.

The leaders familiarized themselves with the conditions created in the complex, and construction works. A cultural program named "Victory" involving Karabakh horses, reflecting the rich culture and traditions of Azerbaijani Karabakh, was presented to the guests.
