President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction of the "Tashkent-East" airport on June 18. This was reported by the President's press service.
The country's sustainable development and its growing international appeal are leading to more active foreign economic relations and an increasing flow of investments. In such circumstances, modernizing all directions of the transport infrastructure in Uzbekistan is being prioritized as the main factor for growth.
One of such strategic projects is the reconstruction of the "Tashkent-East" airport. It aims to provide fast, safe, and comfortable flights that meet high international standards, as well as to reduce the load on the capital's main international airport.
Firstly, the runway, which is 4 kilometers long, has been renovated to accommodate even the heaviest aircraft.
Currently, 2 terminals, aprons, and hangars are being constructed for high-ranking guests and business aviation. The airport is equipped with advanced radio technology and meteorological devices of the ICAO III-A category, ensuring takeoff and landing even in adverse weather conditions. Modern conditions are provided in enclosed hangars for the maintenance and safekeeping of aircraft.
Due to its convenient location, the new airport will become an important transport hub for the capital and New Tashkent city, as well as serve as an additional incentive for the development of tourism in the Tashkent region. Most importantly, it will expand the possibilities for international visits and business trips, improve conditions for welcoming foreign investors, and consequently enhance economic activity, develop the service sector, create new jobs, and significantly increase our country's investment attractiveness.
The head of the state familiarized himself with the technical characteristics and architectural solutions of the terminals, and issued specific instructions to accelerate the construction works and improve the level of service.
