Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement on a three-day ceasefire from May 9 to 11. During this period, military operations will be suspended, and the main focus will be on humanitarian issues.
One of the most important matters under the agreement is the exchange of prisoners of war, with reports that the sides have agreed to return prisoners in a "1000 for 1000" format.
It was stated that the Russian side has accepted the ceasefire initiative put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump. It was also emphasized that humanitarian issues, particularly the fate of prisoners, are a priority in this process.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also confirmed the agreement, noting that the main goal is to return Ukrainian prisoners of war home. He announced that the Ukrainian side has begun all necessary preparations to implement the agreement.
The agreement is said to be mediated by the United States, and both sides express confidence in its full implementation.
