The European Union is preparing new sanctions regarding the deportation of Ukrainian children. Zamon.uz reported this.
According to the publication's diplomatic sources, the new restrictions are planned to be approved on May 12 at a meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. The sanctions will affect individuals and structures involved in the processes of deporting and forcibly transferring Ukrainian children. Currently, over 100 individuals and legal entities are subject to such EU sanctions.
According to European Union estimates, Russia has illegally deported or forcibly transferred more than 20,000 Ukrainian children since the start of its large-scale war against Ukraine.
Brussels accuses Moscow of attempting to Russify children, including by forcibly granting them Russian citizenship, placing them in Russian families, exerting ideological influence, and militarization.
