During his visit to Fergana region, the head of state was presented with the concept for modernizing Fergana International Airport.

The presentation reviewed plans to extend the runway, upgrade the aerodrome infrastructure, and build new passenger and cargo terminals.

The new terminal, with an area of 20,000 square meters, will have the capacity to serve up to 1,200 passengers simultaneously. It is also envisaged that the number of aircraft parking stands will be increased to up to 10.

The President emphasized that the airport is the "gateway" of the region and gave recommendations on developing modern services and related facilities. If the project is implemented, it is expected that the transport connectivity and tourism potential of the Fergana Valley will significantly increase.
