The US Central Command announced that a naval blockade will be imposed on all vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports starting from April 13. The decision was approved by US President Donald Trump.
This blockade will fully cover Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman and will be applied to the vessels of all countries. At the same time, the US side stated that the freedom of international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz will be preserved.
This decision was announced after the talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad ended without results. According to Trump's emphasis, the main goal is to reduce Iran's revenues from oil trade and to stop payments received via sea.
Iran, in turn, rejected these statements, calling such threats groundless. Representatives of the naval forces stated that the country's fleet is fully controlling the situation in the region.
