At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will pay a state visit to our country on March 26-27.
The visit will include high-level talks and the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council under the chairmanship of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The upcoming events on the agenda include issues of further strengthening relations of friendship and good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Special attention will be paid to strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade-economic and interregional cooperation, developing industrial cooperation and transport interconnectivity, ensuring water and energy security, and continuing wide-ranging cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The heads of state will exchange views on urgent issues of international and regional importance, as well as on cooperation within multilateral formats.
It is also planned to launch a number of new joint projects and sign a substantial package of bilateral documents aimed at further developing multifaceted cooperation.
