Today, on March 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The presidential press service reported this.

It was noted that within the framework of implementing high-level agreements, urgent issues of further developing and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia were considered.

It was noted with satisfaction that trade and economic cooperation is developing dynamically. According to the results of last year, the trade turnover increased by 10%, reaching 13 billion dollars, and since the beginning of this year, it has grown by another 32%.

The implementation of major cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, and other key sectors of the economy continues.

Special attention was paid to advancing the project for constructing the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.

High appreciation was given to the effective activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The sides emphasized their active preparations for holding the next edition of the "INNOPROM Central Asia" international industrial exhibition in Tashkent in April of this year, which has become an effective platform for promoting new forms and projects of cooperation.

Views were exchanged on urgent issues of international importance, including the situation in the Middle East, South Asia, and Ukraine.

At the end of the conversation, the schedule of future events was also discussed.
