The Central Bank of Iran has issued a banknote with a denomination of 10 million rials. This new banknote is worth approximately $7 at the current exchange rate and is recorded as the highest denomination in the country's history.
According to central bank officials, the decision was made to meet the population's need for cash.
At the same time, despite the stable operation of electronic payment systems and online banking services in the country, against the backdrop of the new banknote's release, the population is attempting to withdraw money from their accounts en masse.
